Discover Milon

When it comes to indulging in a hearty, flavorful meal in New York, Milon stands out as a restaurant that promises a unique dining experience. Located at 93 1st Ave #2, New York, NY 10003, this spot has built a loyal following thanks to its flavorful and authentic Indian cuisine. Whether you're a local or a visitor exploring the city's vibrant food scene, Milon provides an unforgettable taste of India that keeps customers coming back for more.

As soon as you walk through the doors of Milon, you’ll notice the warmth of the ambiance, which blends a traditional touch with a relaxed, casual atmosphere. The restaurant’s interior is simple yet inviting, with cozy seating arrangements that make it easy for guests to enjoy their meals while having conversations without the usual distractions found in more high-end dining establishments. It's the perfect place to unwind after a busy day, whether you're dining alone, with friends, or even with a large group.

One of the highlights of Milon is its exceptional menu, which offers a wide variety of Indian dishes. From the moment you glance at the offerings, you'll find everything from tandoori specialties to rich, flavorful curries. A standout on the menu is their famous chicken tikka masala, a dish that many customers rave about. It’s rich and creamy, with a perfect balance of spices that leaves you craving more after every bite. The biryani is another must-try - aromatic, fluffy rice layered with marinated meat, spices, and a slight hint of smokiness that makes it irresistible.

If you're a fan of vegetarian dishes, Milon doesn’t disappoint. Their selection of vegetarian options is equally impressive, with dishes like the saag paneer (a flavorful spinach-based curry with cubes of fresh cheese) and the aloo gobi (a spiced potato and cauliflower curry) regularly earning praise from guests. It's clear that the chefs at Milon put as much thought and care into their vegetarian offerings as they do the meat dishes, making sure they are as rich and flavorful as possible.

Service at Milon is friendly and attentive. The staff is knowledgeable about the menu and can provide great recommendations based on your preferences. Whether you're new to Indian cuisine or a seasoned pro, they’ll guide you through the options and ensure that you have an enjoyable experience. The wait time for dishes is also reasonable, even during the busy hours, which is always a plus when you’re hungry and eager to dive into your meal.

In terms of prices, Milon offers great value for the quality of food you’re getting. While it’s not a cheap eatery, the prices are fair considering the generous portion sizes and the authenticity of the dishes. A typical meal here won’t break the bank, and it’s definitely worth the price when you consider the high level of flavor and the cozy, inviting atmosphere.

What really sets Milon apart from other Indian restaurants in the area is its reputation for providing an authentic experience. Unlike many other Indian eateries that might tone down the spices for a Western palate, Milon serves dishes that stay true to the bold, complex flavors of Indian cuisine. The use of fresh ingredients and traditional cooking methods shines through in every dish, making it a favorite among those who know and love Indian food.

It’s no surprise that Milon has garnered a reputation as one of the best Indian restaurants in the area. The loyal customer base and rave reviews speak volumes about the quality and consistency of the food. Whether it’s for a casual meal or a special celebration, Milon offers something for everyone. The combination of its authentic flavors, cozy atmosphere, and welcoming service makes it a go-to destination for those craving an authentic taste of India in the heart of New York City.

If you're planning to visit Milon, it’s a good idea to check their hours and perhaps make a reservation if you're coming during peak dining times, as this place can get quite busy. But no matter when you decide to go, you can always expect a meal that’s packed with flavor and made with care.

  • My brother recommended this place to us on our long lay over in the area. The place is very tiny and it was packet and many people were still waiting outside for their turn. The decorations is what makes the place very unique. With lots of colorful lights, flowers and world flags. Inside the place is very small and very loud. They don’t serve alcohol, but they allow ppl to bring their own drinks, so you will see ppl standing their with their beer packs and wine bottles. The service is fast and the food is very delicious. If your in New York, you have to make a quick stop at this place. Reservation ahead of time is needed.

  • Take a seat a and let me tell you the tale of Milon. Lights flashing, music blaring, dudes competing for your business outside, it's truly a delight for the senses. The food here is the bomb dot com and the only place in NYC where you can eat a 4 course meal for 2 for under 40 bucks. The chicken tandoori meal had me in the spirit realm as my taste buds were assaulted from all directions by spices and juice. Lemme tell you something folks, this is a must for your weekend trip and one for the memory books.

  • This is the restaurant located on the left side top floor of the building. Closed due to COVID and now re opened by the owners of the neighboring top right restaurant Panna II. The place is tightly organized and the decorations really put you in the mood for a little culinary trip to India. Service is good and friendly. The indian food is great. Bring your own alcoholic drinks. At this time cash ONLY. You might notice some competition from the two other establishments at the lower level, I didn't try them out yet.

  • It’s three south Asian food places together in one building. The other side was full of people so we went into Milon. It’s a nice place with all Christmas lights set up inside for the whole year. It took time to get the food but good food.

  • What an incredible lunch special feast. 6 courses, $12 after tip and tax. Superb service. Atmosphere can't be beat. I ate wholesome and nourishing food. Not greasy or overly salty. A rare delight for a restaurant with these prices.
